Chick-Fil-A Book Drive HUGE Support

We’d like to thank Chick-Fil-A at Cotswold for its recent support of the Friends of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library. During the week of April 2-7, 2012, this Chick-Fil-A location collected hundreds of books for the Friends’ Annual Book Sale.

"I’d like to highlight how wonderful Leigh (the Chick-Fil-A marketing liason) was during our time there Wednesday night, board member, Barrett Mallos said. ”She had everything organized and ready to go, was proactively helpful the entire night, and overall was just genuinely excited to be helping out the library.”

The Friends will continue to collect books from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday from now until April 24, 2012 at the book sale site 6100 Fairview Road, Suite 100.

The book sale starts April 27 and will end May 5, 2012. There will be a First Night event April 26 from 6-9 p.m. for Friends and Library donors who have given $25 or more since July 1, 2012. You can give that evening to enjoy the first picks of the sale!

Library still needs books for sale

South Charlotte Weekly: Posted by CW Editor on April 5, 2012 in News

Donations are needed for a book sale to help the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library.

People can donate their old books, DVDs, CDs and other media at the Cotswold Chick-fil-A, at 4431 Randolph Road, until Saturday, April 7. Donors will get a free sandwich when they drop off four or more books.

The books will be sold at a Friends of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library sale to raise money for the library system and offset recent budget cuts.

Last year’s event raised $20,000.

People can buy books April 26 to May 5 at SouthPark Towers, 6100 Fairview Road.

Friends of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the library, recently launched the third annual book donation drive and sale.

The book drive kicked off on March 31 at South Park Towers at 6100 Fairview Road from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Costwold Chick-Fil-A, 4431 Randolph Road through April 7 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The book sale will take place through May 5 at South Park Towers.

“Our sole purpose of Friends of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library is to raise funds for the library so this book drive has been our biggest fundraiser for that over the last three years,” said Marion McMahon, marketing committee co-chair. “Last year we raised $20,000 through the book sale.”
